The Maze Advantage
Superior Stem Cell Processing
Your baby’s stem cells will be processed using our Advanced Suspension Method™. This method is a superior processing technology, which yields more healthy stem cells and reduces red blood cell contamination.
A Manual Processing Technique
Advanced Suspension Method™ is a manual processing technique, which results in higher accuracy and less cell damage than automated processing. This method also allows the lab technologists to customize the separation according to the specific speed of cell sedimentation no matter what the volume of blood.
The Benefits of Manual vs Automated Processing
Manual processing is significantly superior to automated processing, for two reasons:

MazeT5TM Multi-Compartment Storage
MazeT5TM preserves the unique stem cells from your baby’s cord tissue into 5 equal and separate segments. This gives your family the most options for the future with the flexibility to use only a part of these valuable stem cells as needed.
FDA / NDA Approved Collection
We use the only FDA/NDA approved collection bag, which contains an anti-coagulant called Citrate Phosphate Dextrose (CPD). CPD is recommended and approved by the FDA as the preferred anticoagulant for blood collection.
A Heparin-free Collection Bag
Heparin is not recommended by the FDA or the transplant community. The use of Heparin as an anticoagulant with cord blood is discouraged because it begins to break down 12 hours after blood collection. This breakdown can lead to the formation of blood clots, which may render your baby’s cord blood unfit for processing.
