AABB

Formerly known as the American Association of Blood Banks. The AABB is an international association that represents individuals and institutions involved in transfusion and cellular therapies, such as transplantation medicine.

Cord Blood Stem Cells

Unspecialized cells extracted from the umbilical cord that have the potential to change into different types of blood cells.

Cryobank

A storage place that uses very low temperatures to preserve transplantable tissues.

Cryopreservation

A process by which cells or tissues are preserved through cooling to low sub-zero temperatures.

Food and Drug Administration - A branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
